We got a problem! I have looked at some of the old rapidshare links on this site and those links have been blocked for illegal content.

Not deleted or expired,but BLOCKED!I've been downloading files on Rapidshare for YEARS and I have NEVER seen a blocked link before.

It looks like "they" are looking for any illegal content on file-hosting sites,starting with the most popular and the most used(Rapidshare).


Possible solutions:
1.We could switch to another file-hoster that's not too popular or well known.You can search here Filehostingreview.com.
2.I recommend that we don't rely only on one file-hosting site,especially the most used ones like Rapidshare.
3.We or some of us could at least become premium members.

Links that are blocked have been recently reported. After 7 days they get deleted automatically. In the old rapidshare, before June 2008, they didn't give this message.

I don't think it would help to switch to a new host because any link no matter which host can get deleted. It also won't work to use link hiding sites since most hosters include the link in the download page. The new rapidshare did this so reporters could report the link. One host that still hides links is Rapidshare.de

Some, like Netload, take longer to delete. Netload doesn't even have a terms of service! But its slower than 56k for free users and is loaded with popups.

One host I recommend is easy-share.com Free users can download at full speed and it has similar features as RS.

They were probably links that were posted on one of the big Forums like pornbb or Forumophilia. I generally find that links are safe if you just stick to posting on specialist sites.
